First draft podcast
First Draft began in 2014 as a way to spur conversations between authors, primarily writers of young adult fiction. Over the intervening years, First Draft has featured honest, inspiring conversations with New York Times bestsellers like Divergent author Veronica Roth, The Martian author Andy Weir, and The Red Queen author Victoria Aveyard, Emmy award winner Josh Gondelman, National Book Award winner Robin Benway, Caldecott winner Jon Klassen, Newberry Award winner Dan Santat, and Printz Award winner Nina LaCour.
The scope of the podcast has broadened to include TV writers and screenwriters, essayists, podcasters, songwriters, and other storytellers.
In 2020, First Draft with Sarah Enni introduced Track Changes, a podcast miniseries explaining the traditional publishing industry in the United States, and its accompanying subscription newsletter, also called Track Changes, that provides additional information for anyone looking to approach writing professionally.
