the story is...
In July 2014, Sarah Enni had a book that hadn’t sold, a marriage that was ending, and a hankering to move back to the west coast. In search of inspiration—for her career, and her life—she set out on a cross-country road trip and visited authors she admired along the way. Sarah cut those interviews into podcast episodes and started releasing them every week.
Sarah settled in Los Angeles in 2015, but the podcast continued. The more than 300-episode catalogue includes conversations with novelists, memoirists, nonfiction writers, screenwriters, songwriters, directors, actors, illustrators, and more.
In 2020, First Draft expanded with season one of Track Changes, a mini-series covering every step of how your book goes from a laptop to a bookshelf in the traditional publishing industry.
